E-CARD 1

DONATE FOR BOOKS:

The Learn United Book Fund

E-CARD TEXT: It's sad, but true. In low-income neighborhoods, there is an average of only 1 book per 300 children. Compare that to 13 books per child in middle- and upper-income neighborhoods! By donating to Learn United's book fund, we can change that and get books in the hands of the kids who need them most. No amount is too small to make a difference.

E-CARD 2

Allen Country Women's Initiative

E-CARD TEXT: Most children enter kindergarten knowing about 10,000 words. But kids from low-income families know an average of only 800 words-92% less! Before they even start school they are already way behind. Allen County Women's Inititaive is working hard to improve early literacy skills for children living in the poorest areas of our community.

VOLUNTEER:

Become a Tutor

E-CARD TEXT: 40% of local 3rd graders from low-income households do not pass the language portion of their ISTEP exam. Most of the kids that fall behind in 3rd grade won't catch up their whole life! To eliminate poverty in our community, it's crucial that our children read well. You and your firends have the power to change that by being tutors.
